Tales Of Other Places is a field recording project ongoing since 2011. The work is a deep listening and awareness of situations, places and cultures. An auditory approach, an attempt to understand.
„Listening is the art of showing true interest in your counterpart.“ Following this guiding principle, places unknown to me are explored and documented.
While travelling or on excursions, I have thus been capturing noises, sounds or entire soundscapes for a few years. Often these come from the everyday life of others, so from ordinary situations, which, however, can unfold a special magic for strangers. I use these sonic realities in installations or performances and thus create free and fictional audio pieces. These audio pieces can be performed live for the moment or exist as an installation and shape spaces.
